Contamination Defects

Dirt, dust, and debris cause nibs and inclusions. Sources include dirty filters, poor booth cleanliness, inadequate pressure, and contaminated air supply.

Airflow-Related Defects

Dry spray, orange peel, and overspray can result from incorrect airflow. Too much air causes rapid dry; too little allows overspray to settle.

Temperature-Related Defects

Temperature affects coating flow and cure. Cold causes orange peel and slow cure. Heat causes runs, sags, and solvent popping.

Document Defect Patterns

Keep samples or photos of recurring defects. Patterns help identify root causes.

Paint Defects Caused by Booth Problems FAQ
